God has been so wonderful to us. Can I just say that I'm learning so much about trusting him, waiting on Him and the spiritual discipline of prayer. There are many things in our lives right now that we are praying for godly wisdom on. We've come close to buying a few homes over the years, the most recent a few weeks ago. Just a few days ago we found another home that we have really fallen in love with. We'll be making an offer on it and trusting God for the outcome. I didn't have a peace after our last home choice turned up way too much to -do work on the inspection. Josh didn't either. The current home is perfect in so many was, but location and a few tweeks are what is holding us back.
I'm thrilled to say that so many of my friends right now are pregnant or have just given birth. I'm attending a shower for a co-worker today! I'm so happy for her and her husband! They are gonna make the best parents. Just for kicks, and because I get asked about 10-15 times a day if I'm pregnant and Josh gets asked ever so often, I took Facebook quizes! I don't normally waste my time on this, but I found a few quizes asking, "What is the name of your future child?" "How many kids will you have?" etc. I enjoyed the reactions very much! Hey...gotta have a little fun with all the poking and teasing after a while. It use to bother me, now I just laugh about it and say, "It will happen when it's meant to happen."
My new junior high girls Life Group is starting up TOMORROW!!!! I so can't wait! Life Groups are my most favorite way to dig deep. I'm looking at having about 10-11 girls.
We recently had our Back to School Retreat with LifeWire as well. Me and my friend Steph did the cookin, "Mama May" style! I think the food was a hit and we had such a great time while cooking and serving. Just gotta say that we cranked out some Christmas tunes and were belting them out! I'm pretty sure our husbands and students were trying to disown us afterward. But hey, we had fun! Did I mention we danced?! We DANCED!!!
The retreat was amazing. We used the new movie, "To Save a Life" as a backdrop for the retreat. The staff took turns doing mini lessons and devo's. Josh was able to take a break from teaching while we heard from some staff. I think everyone did such a fantastic job! It's great to see how God worked!
I enjoyed putting together my devo, although somewhat last minute. I wanted to talk about being consistent as a Christian and used the profile of the pastors son (who is inconsistent) as an example of what not to be. I brought my blender from home and gave different examples of what life throws us:
- Sometimes life is smooth (plain yogurt)
- Sometimes life is a bit sweet (blueberries)
- Sometimes life throws us situations that make us dig deep and sometimes get dirty to get ourselves out of a pit (dirt)
- Sometimes life hurts but we sometimes decide that quick fixes are the only way to get up and over (neosporine and band aids)
- Sometimes life gets blended into a mix of things (blended it all up).
- In all these things, how do we practice being consistent as Christians?
That was kinda the gist, but I really believe the Holy Spirit came upon me. I didn't have it totally planned, but He did!
Well I gotta get ready for church. I'll try to update more often. Please be praying for the open door for a home! We wanna be where God wants us!
