I have been so blessed and renewed lately to catch up with old friends. I've really been missing a lot of my friends from college and wish that we all lived in a close community again. Thankfully, these past few days, I've been able to catch up with some friends that I haven't talked with since the end of graduation.
Just the other day, I was reminiscing with a friend and saying how hard it is to promise to stay in touch after a week at summer camp or a few years at college. We all go our separate ways and life takes us on many different roads; sometimes we meet up again and sometimes we may not, until heaven at least. I'm finding myself thankful for social networks, like "Facebook" where I have been able to reconnect with many friends that I wouldn't be able to otherwise.
Lately, I've especially admired the kind of friends that you may not chat with all the time, but when you are finally able to reconnect, you can pick up where you left off. It's such a rejuvenating experience. Praise the Lord for those endearing friends who truly are kindred spirits.
I'm also so thankful for faithful friends who have stayed with me through life's ups and downs and for the friends I have in my life right now. I have a friend who is at a slightly different season of life right now, but she has been, in many respects, a mentor of sorts. She doesn't make me feel belittled but has been there for me to pray with me and make me laugh. I adore our friendship!
