TRADITION! TRADITION!!!

Last night, Josh and I went to see the Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof, featuring Topol on his last tour (the same actor that played in the film version). I was ecstatic! I love musicals and Fiddler is definitely one of my favorites. I remember growing up, watching the movie version, knowing all the songs by heart and even the Jewish humor. I have fond memories of my own dad trying to be like Tevye, "I am the Papa..." and "Dear God, did you have to make my poor old horse lame today?" My folks use to hilariously belt out, "But do you love me?" the coming of love age song between Tevye and his wife Golde. Of all the quotable lines in the entire play, "Tradition!" has got to be the most well-known. The brilliance of the writing, the acting, the singing and the dancing combined to make this an epic performance.

This was also Josh's first ever Broadway musical, and for a guy who loathes the thought of any kind of musical, even he was quite impressed! Josh is awesome when it comes to treating me to these special nights. We always have such a great night out.

The only downer to the entire night was having to pay $3 for a lousy 8 oz. cup of house coffee and another $3 for a tea bag and hot water in an 8 oz. cup...high way robbery...even with the refillable options. Oh...and no double cup for my hands that were scorched...
