Warm Springs 2010

We just returned last night from our yearly missions trip with the junior high (LifeWire). Every year we've taken youth to Warm Springs has been unique and wonderful and challenging. This year stood out to me by far, and I'm not sure why. All the teams we've had in the past have been amazing. There was something about this year that makes it set apart from all the rest. The spiritual maturity and hunger to grow was emphasized way more. We had some wonderful team work and team leaders. Our devotion times during chapel were also led by student leaders. God did some crazy things during this trip, some incredibly crazy things.

And, I just have to thank God for a trip that stretched me too. With the scoliosis in my back, I've have felt quite limited and at times defeated with what I'm able to do. I felt that this year, God really gave me the love of others and different ways to love others around me. I loved being the "mom" of the team and am so thankful for some deep conversations, prayer over students and overall bonding within the team. This is the smallest group we've taken thus far and I think the smallness contributed to how unified the team felt. We also had many moments of comic relief from some of the students. I haven't laughed this hard in quite a while!
