Pumpkin Patch and a Celebration of Fall!

Who in their right mind would turn down a morning at the pumpkin patch with good friends and family where yummy apple cider donuts can be enjoyed?! I mean really?! I LOVE pumpkin patches and Autumn time period. Talk about a season where so much can put a smile on one's face. And, like many things, seeing all of the changes around us take place is always more fun when seen through the eyes of a child. Addy loves walks, unlike our four legged toddler who would just as soon be a bear and hibernate through the winter (and spring and summer and fall for that matter). She has been enjoyed her little cozy coupe so much and soon we can take the bottom out so she can make her "caaa" go fast in true Flintstone fashion. I'll pull of different colors of leaves on our walk for her to hold (and hopefully not eat). She says, "Ohhhhhh" very high pitched like my Auntie Irene use to. Addy is an outdoors girl through and through. She'd probably be just fine going out there naked but my mama bear wouldn't allow that! So, we get all bundled up with usually a baby or bear and a snack and a sippy cup and were off. On some days when the weather isn't grand, I pray I can time a break in the rain with her schedule and get us outside for a bit.

But...back to the pumpkin patch. We had a wonderful morning at the pumpkin patch. We didn't get our pumpkins on this visit but this coming weekend we shall. Addy was very cranky on our way there and I do believe we considered staying home, but just couldn't. We knew when we got there and she could be outside and looking around at the animals and all she'd be in her element and just fine. And she was. Mama bear of course bundled her all up so much so she reminded us of what's his name from Christmas Story when his mom put him in all those layers of craziness before he went outside in the snow. Poor thing gave us a few uncomfortable looks and as the sun came out more we eventually stripped off her outer layer. She was better.

Here's some pictures from the morning!

Josh and I were saying that we don't really take pictures of the two of us anymore...so here ya go! But...we noticed afterward that Addy is making an appearance in both pictures...can you see her in the mirror in the back????
And in this picture, Addy is actually laughing cuz we're kissin'! Silly girl!

We came home with apple cider donuts, apple butter, pumpkin butter, apple cider and a refreshed spirit.

When we came home I cleaned out the car and Josh inserted her UPGRADE CARSEAT!!! The girl is officially facing forward with room for her little feet to kick and move! I'll grab a picture of that soon. Her first time in the seat was horrible. She didn't like it one bit. And this morning before church started off awful. But once she was in and had a chance to take it in she began laughing and squealing. And I'm happy because now I can reach behind and tickle her toes! Our little girl is growin up.

This has been a week of HUGE growth. She's now walking in and out of rooms like a rock star. And this morning while I had her in the bathroom with me while I attempted a shower she opened a drawer! I know that's not a big deal for parents who have had babies doing that since 6 months, but this was really the first time I had seen her do it and do it soooo easily. Josh and I are wondering how much baby proofing we will really have to do around here. We have yet to get gates, etc. We'll see.

We had our friends Jake and Amanda over for lunch/dinner after church and that turned into such a great time. Addy was pulling out all of the stops for them! She served everyone tea from her tea set and even cake, of course both after she tried them first.

Miss you all like crazy! Life isn't the same without family around. So funny about the hat. I found it on clearance a few weeks ago. She had obviously outgrown her winter beanie from last year so she needed another one! I love it!
