WE MET HER!!!

I'm not a girl who gets celebrity crushes. I don't have one of those fancy fan sites, whatever their called. But I do have a few celeb's that I don't mind speaking highly of and having a high regard for. Ree Drummond is one of those gals. She inspires me. She makes me want to move my family to Oklahoma to live off of and work the land, homeschool my kids and do what I love. Pioneer Woman, as she has become known as, has had my heart since the days she was just a blogger. Now three enormously wonderful cookbooks, children's books and a Food Network star later, she has continued to hold my attention.

And in a dream come true moment, I finally met her.

My kindred spirit, Stephanie and I and Steph's daughter were able to attend her book signing at a local book store. We royally missed our other kindred spirit, Stacie. The day didn't go as any of us had planned but I'm so glad I decided to go and meet Ree.

She was simply delightful. She was just as we imagined. We told her she was a kindred spirit of ours and she just didn't know it! We told her we wanted to have a coffee date with her and she said that sounded really good to her. Steph and I left the book store and must have screamed most of the way home saying, "WE MET HER!!! WE MET HER!!!" In short, we acted like a couple of giddy school girls. Pretty much we would love next Christmas to be on the ranch with her and our families!

I think what speaks the most to me about Ree is how real and genuine she is. And, she smiles a lot. She is honestly my happy place. When I'm having a hard day with Addy, I love to look through her cookbooks, blog or watch an episode of her show.

Most recently, Ree has been inspiring me with homeschooling...more on that later. For now here's some pictures from our few moments with Ree:
