We always love it when Auntie Lizzie comes to visit. Even though she has yet to change a diaper, she is always a welcome addition to our family routines. Lizzie and I always enjoy baking and trying new things together. She's a great help in the kitchen and it always makes me excited for when Adelynne gets a little older and she can do more with me in the kitchen. This visit, Josh was excited to show her how to make cinnamon rolls!!! I had a blast watching my hubby teach his little sis how to make his new favorite. They were pretty cute together and very meticulous about their project. We've learned since making them this time that rolling out the dough as even as possible on all sides is important, as well as making sure the end pieces are even. I added a cream cheese frosting to them which were incredibly yummy! Lizzie and I decided to make two Fall treats for youth group because they were having a spaghetti night. And even though Addy and I don't stay that late for youth group anymore, it was super fun passing on a contribution to their night. We made mini pumpkin pies (which the recipe we used added too much salt...but we will know that for next time) and my stand by Thanksgiving favorite dessert of Lizzies, Rachel Ray's Pumpkin Whoopie Pies. We had a great time. Our Wednesday was super busy and with Addy being cranky it made for an entertaining time! But all in all, we felt very accomplished!
Addy and Lizzie looking at the "babies" in the new American Girl catalog. Wow, did this bring back memories!
These last two pictures are from the youth's yearly scavenger hunt called "Lost." Every year I've been able to be part of a team searching for clues all over the county. This was the first year I've been on a winning team! Very fun, as always!
Our team! Yeah us!!
And, Sittee and Jidu were gracious enough to come up to watch Addy the night of Lost so that I could attend and participate! Thanks ya'all...love ya!
Here's a few pictures of Jidu with Addy and his radio.
